You guys are all OK to show up until the point that we go hot tomorrow. I have extra targets, so we are good.

Re: 3/8/15 CAPRC Match
Thanks for today's fun match.
I'm all for at least one "wildcard" stage in every match, and it's extra fun to have an entire wildcard match.

Thanks to everyone who put together and ran the match, nothing like a wildcard match to take you out of your comfort zone.

Re: 3/8/15 CAPRC Match
Thanks for coming out guys. Although we had a few hiccups, I think it was a fun match. There were definitely several lessons learned from this match for improving on future matches. I am glad that you guys liked the some of the change-ups and challenges presented. Big thanks to everybody who pitched in to make this happen. Thanks to Brad and Solo for running the line, the Giff for his help with all the score tallying, and everybody else who helped out with targets and spotting.
Thanks and congratulations to all the shooters for coming out to compete.

3/8/15 CAPRC Match
There was a disputed call on one of the 460Y barricade shots. Samson and Jeff were spotting, Jeff and I thought it hit the edge, but Sam said it missed. I joked with Sam that that shot would be the one to put him over and sure enough, if it had been counted I would have edged out Sam by 2 points. Oh well, that's the way the game is played. I'll just be sure to spot for Sam next matchkhw9mm wrote:LOL. What happened anyway??

I protest my score too. I wasn't cheated out of anything, but I shot like shit. I have to start shooting more again.
To Ray's point, I think one spotter looking at two targets is necessarily going to result in mis-scoring. It's really difficult to spot two different targets well.

I agree with the problem using one spotter. I lost sleep after Ray yelled at me after there was a discrepancy in the calls.johnlee wrote:I protest my score too. I wasn't cheated out of anything, but I shot like shit. I have to start shooting more again.

Yep, that it was. And good lessons learned. Starting off first with no spotters on dual targets again! If anything, two spotters on one target!
And yes, Samson earned every point that I saw on my side of the line, and it sounds like he gamed his spotting well too.....
Hahaha! And you guys thought Solo was the gamer!
Samson snuck in like a Ninja! I bet you will keep your eye on him next time!

I think some of you may need a session with the crying towel...
I don't think anyone was trying to cheat someone else out of any points, human error? Maybe. It seems to me that the ones that feel "cheated" NEVER help spot or with any part of the match. They just show up and shoot. Maybe that's their way of being able to complain without being complained about. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.

You can keep you 2 cents worth to your self , I think you're the one who is crying no one mentioned your name , you new comers better show some respect , if I want to show up and shoot I will show up and shoot it is none of you fucking business you are not paying my dues . They put a boy to do a mans job , if you fuck up admit it and try to learn from your mistakes instead of shooting your big mouth off , the founders of this club better come up with new discipline and principals for the shooter , instead of dropping the boll otherwise it will turn to a cluster fuck.Downrange67 wrote:I think some of you may need a session with the crying towel...

Hey guys, Micheal is right. We are all friends here. If you would like to blame somebody for any issues in spotting or anything else about the match, please direct it at me. I tried to put together a very different and fun match than was way outside the status quo for the club. There were a few stages that were a complete success, and others that were definitely flawed. I aspire to make matches better and better in the future for you guys. If anyone did not honestly feel that they got their money's worth on fun at the very least let me know, and I will personally take care of your match fees next time.

I thought it went pretty well. COF were challenging, but fun. I know I'm pretty new to the crew, but I'm not new to competition. Shooting has more sportsmanship in it then any other sport I've played. It's a monthly match fella's. It's all practice! If there are flaws, let's talk about how to improve it for next time!

I never blamed any body nor I mentioned any names I simply expressed my feeling about it
I've been shooting at the Angeles since 1982, some of you guys were not even born and some of you were still on milk bottle , for over twenty years I've been dealing with clients with the highest status in power and money and names , none of them up to this day showed any disrespect to me , they listened to my suggestions and followed my professional advice .
I've been a member of this club for four years and never disrespected any one on open forum , but I will not let anyone to say crap about me on open forum , I don't get into most of the discussions here , as you can see I've only posted less than 200 in four years most of them productive info or announcements ,
Again I will not allow whipper snappers to talk shit to me .
Rich this has nothing to do to you as I said this before you put so much of your time to the good of the club ,
Thank you.

I don't know how much of this sand in my vagina bitching is real or sarcasm. That said, this a local monthly match. Nothing on the line other than this months forum bragging rights. The MD and the spotters do the best they can. Every shooter can spot their own hits & misses and knows how they shot regardless of where they finished. Most everyone uses the monthly's as tune ups for bigger matches or just for shits & giggles. Save all the bitching about bad calls for the big matches, when it might be worth a plugged nickel. If you saw the impact but it wasn't called, shrug is off and move on. What is bitching about it going to accomplish at a monthly? You really want a Dog Tag that bad? You can have any of mine.

I can't help but think that some of these remarks are directed at me. Henry and I are at the center of the debated calls so I feel inclined to comment with all jokes aside.
When I spot, I put forth my best effort to accurately call impacts. That said, i can honestly say that every impact i called or didnt call on Sunday was made with the shooter in mind and to the best of my ability. It was never my intention to cheat anyone out of points.
So we're poking fun here and there. No harm no fowl...I thought the guys on this forum had thicker skin but apparently I am mistaken. Some take to jokes better than others...oh well.
We all have our days. Catch me on a bad day and I can be the biggest asshole you've met, that I can guarantee. So since I am having a relatively decent day let me set the record straight.
Ray, if I handled myself in a manner that offended you on a personal level, I apologize. That was never my intention. I respect the veterans of this sport equally as I know there is much for me to learn from you guys. I aspire to shoot at your level one day. Like I stated previously, no hard feelings.
Hats off to Rich C for mixing it up. I'm sure there are lessons to be learned from this match. Hopefully moving forward we as a club can apply what we've learned .

My remarks were directly to his sarcastic posting , it was not to you at all , I understand mistakes can happen ,
and I left it at the range end of the story , but this Johnny come lately big mouth Henry G . Should not have shoot off this kind of remarks on open forum , he thinks I'm not doing anything for the club , but he is too stupid short on ears big on the mouth, to see what I'm doing for the club , that is I'm trying to shoot good at the big matches to keep the name of the club as well as the SoCal shooters high ,also make up for the fuck ups of his king at the big matches , no Henry I dont have to spot at the club matches I will leave that to the new comers who don't even know how to get behind their rifles , even spotting seems to be big task.
Again, Ben thank you for your apologies . My comments as harsh as it seems was not towards you.
Thank you

Re: 3/8/15 CAPRC Match
IF the spotter needs to move the spotting scope between targets, I agree.johnlee wrote:To Ray's point, I think one spotter looking at two targets is necessarily going to result in mis-scoring. It's really difficult to spot two different targets well.
If both targets are visible in the scope's view, it's not bad, as long as the spotter knows which target he should be looking at in the order that the shooter is shooting at them.
One spotter for two shooters on two different targets is dodgy.

It was a bit difficult especially because the pace at which both shooters were engaging targets was very similar.AR15barrels wrote:

How many shooters/targets was each spotter spotting for?Point of Impact wrote:It was a bit difficult especially because the pace at which both shooters were engaging targets was very similar.
My general rule is one spotter per target per shooter whenever possible.
If you have 3 targets for a shooter to engage, you need two spotters so that the first spotter can move to the 3rd target while the second spotter is spotting the second target.
Add a 4th target and the second spotter can get to the 4th target while the shooter is on the 3rd target.
Problems arise when the spotter has to transition the spotting scope at the same speed as the shooter as some shooters will beat some spotters to the next target.

One spotter, 2 targets at the same distance, both visible in the spotter.

Everyone should chill, we're all friends here. Sam's call might have been a mistake or not, same goes with Henry and Ben's. I didn't see it so I'm not judging anything.
But the fact is that this was only a monthly match and we're all supposed to go out, have fun, learn something, and talk trash without being offended.
Ray, I know what you're going through on your personal life and it's very tough. I just went through it a year ago. I know you come out and you try to help others (myself included) the best that you can and I think we all appreciate that. Henry's comment was sarcastic (maybe out of line) but I don't think he meant it directly at you but just the situation as a whole. He is a good guy...

That's a little more challenging if you have to differentiate on who hit the target first.Point of Impact wrote:One spotter, 2 targets at the same distance, both visible in the spotter.
