well like the subject says today was my first time shooting 600 yards. untill today the furthest i had reached out was 300. my ar15 has been pretty acurate at 300 so i have been itching to go further.
today i was scouting around barstow for a spot that will get me that far and i found one.

not the best grouping but it was a thrill to watch the trail of the bullet. i was able to keep a good sight picture and see the bullets splatter when they hit.

i was shooting factory 62gr. 5.56. its ATI Tactical the steel core stuff.
i have been turning out 45 and 308 for about a year but just recently decided to start on .223 so no reloads yet.
i have a 5gallon bucket almost full that i have been sorting and prepping. havent worked up a load yet.
its amazing how much the bullet drops after 300 yds. and it was barely denting the steel at that distance. i have almost shot through a normal 1"steel plate with a few magazines of that ATI at 200yds. i need to finish my precision bolt gun.
