				Can anything just be fun any longer?
Why does everything have to be tactical, extreme, or a brawl nowadays?

				The fact of the matter is we're all playing "sniper" when we shoot our discipline. Sure, we all try not to say it but it IS the truth. Add a stalking event to any match and it damn near becomes something you would watch on military channel. Add some APCs and Grenades and we're right there.
Tactical is what it is. Yes, i know we hate calling it "tactical" just as much as it's a sin to use the word "sniper" at a match but we do shoot tactical style matches and we do practice a discipline that relates to how a real world sniper would practice.
It is what it is.. get over it guys. If you don't wanna be wanna-be Snipers then go to calguns or Brian Enos's 3-gun forum and be wannabe Door Kickers. Just because someone calls one of our rifles a "sniper" rifle or refers to our discipline as "tactical" shouldn't mean we jump all over them.
If i was a company looking to draw people to my match i would call it
THE UBER TACTICAL SNIPER BRAWL and i'll bet every mother fucker within the USA that owns a "sniper" rifle would pay me $1000 to shoot it!! Don't hate on companies for using words that define the discipline as good marketing.
johnlee wrote:Can anything just be fun any longer?

In no way does a "tactical" match or a "brawl" mean i will have any less fun then if it's called a precision rifle event..

I don't have a problem with "sniper", "tactical", "ninja", "spec-ops" (it's marketing)....... It's the word "Extreme" or "Xtreme" that I can't stand......... Either the word is entirely meanlingless or it's just a gutcheck.

UBER TACTICAL SNIPER BRAWL is pretty good, but there aren't enough buzzwords in there. But it's still just a match, and that's not sufficiently hispeed. You need to call it an OP or a MISSION.

				To give you an idea of how played out this hispeed talk is, take a look at "Tactical Rovers":
http://tacticalrovers.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
These guys don't just drive Land Rovers. They're too xtreeem for that. They drive "Tactical Rovers".
These guys are a little different:
http://www.expeditionops.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They don't just go offroad. They do "Expedition Ops". This is another "ops" site:
http://www.landops.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
These guys are into geocaching. That's using a GPS and looking for matchbox cars and GI Joe dolls inside of ammo cans buried in the ground. That's an Op.
This isn't your standard gun shop that sells guns and ammo:
http://xtremegunsandammo.com/gg-g-extre ... bipod.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Forget Guns & ammo. It's Xtreme Guns & Ammo. These guys are all about being Xtreme. Even the bipod they sell is for "extreme duty". But these rookies don't even sell the Burris Xtreme Tactical scope line:
http://www.burrisoptics.com/xtrtactical1.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Nor do they sell the IOR illuminated Xtreme R2D2 reticle:
http://www.valdada.com/6-24x50-35mm-sfp ... um-reticle" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

				John what you are failing to see is its all about marketing no more no less. Take the name Land Rover. I know you know the history of it. But how many soccer moms or suit guys ever take theirs off pavement let alone use 4 wheel dirve on them? Land Rover wouldn't sell nearly as many vehicles if there Company was named Urban Sport Utility Vehicle Company or what ever they basically are. All it is about is Marketing no more no less.

I bet my 2wd ford ranger has done more off roading than most of the landrovers and rangerovers in the greater LA area.
I said MOST, I know there are always exceptions to any general statement...

If you ever want to use a lot of compressed air, feel free to come by our shop and use our shop air for free.

I don't know what the 360 is, but I think ARMRX is supposed be shorthand for "Armor X", which presumably is shorthand for "Armor Xtreme".
When you look at it, how is ARMRX any less lame than Gen2XR or H2CMR? I'm not ragging on the reticles, but rather the C3PO and R2D2 names of the reticles.
