Today's match had a great turnout with 19 shooters including a brand new shooter Octavio... Thanks for coming out & getting started it's all down hill from here haa!

Weather was a bit warm in the 80's and wind was just not on our side with some very strong gusts blowing us all around especially the 223 guys.

We had a total of 9 stages and completed the match by 1pm, Big thanks to Joe V for all his help to bring you this fun match.

Stage 1 was a 1/2 moa cold bore at 80yds 15 sec par time.
Stage 2 was a seated position stage NRA style at the 200m steel 30sec par time.
Stage 3 was a kyl (know your limits) at the new T posts targets from 150yds -300yds targets got smaller as you went further.4 rnds 30sec par time. Henry G cleaned the stage...AWESOME!!!
Stage 4 was the barricade 4 positions starting prone in a descending order as the previous stage, prone 2 shots at the 300yd diamond trasition to the barricades 3 positions and continuing on the T post targets in descending order. 8 rnds 90 sec par time.
Stage 5 was Kneeling supported where the shooter had to have 1 knee on the ground and was allowed whatever gaming tools they had at the 200 & 300 m steel. 8 rnds 60 sec par time.
Stage 6 was the 5 shot speed drill at the 6" dualing tree flappers at 300m. 5 rnds as fast as you can go!!! Henry G smoked the stage with 5 successful hits in 11.13 sec. Fine display of skillz Henry
Stage 7 was the rope stage where the rifle had to be supported by the hanging rope while you held the other end of the rope with your hand at the 150yd T post big square target. 5 rnds 50 sec par time.
Stage 8 was the fast paced Race to the middle stage where 2 shooters shot at the diamond racks simultaneously from the outside in. First shooter to hit the stop plate got an additional 20 pts. 10 rnds incase you missed 40 sec par time.
Stage 9 was the pistol stage where 2 pistols were used one being a AR pistol and your own pistol if you brought it, we had a G17 loaner available. Shooters started by pulling colored chips & had to memorize the order & shoot the corresponding ipsc paper at various distances 5 targets with 2 shots each in the A zone only then transitioning to the pistol and the pistol targets on the rack 15 yds away. 10 rnds on each firearm 60 sec par time. Top Pistolero went to Brad with a perfect 20 pts on the AR pistol & 6 hits on steel with his ultra high powered colt woodsman. Great Job Brad!

Thanks all for your support & hope to keep it exciting for all. Great shooting guys considering the wind we had.

Thanks again for putting on the match. Something happened to my rifle and was shooting WAY right 2/3 the way into the match. Dunno why- ripping apart the rifle to figure out what happened..... Zeroed 3 stages because of it....

Suckin...... started out doing decent....

Congrats to the winners for showing good performance on a windier day than average. I shot my 308 for the first time in 6 months or so, wasn't too confidence inspiring to start off with having the windage knob wound over a couple moa and not remember why. Turns out that must have been the last good windage zero because windage was good.

The gamer kneeling stage was a lot of fun, I'm glad my bro shot first (he didn't do too well there...), gave Evin and I enough time to watch everybody else and then I remembered I had the nice tripod and hog saddle from the SCPRC prize table to switch out with the rickety little one, which was then commandeered for use by the rest of the A squad. And then we snatched it away before the B squad could use it. Haaaa! :randall: as Rich would say.

To the range today to try out the new sig 239 I got to pick up this afternoon.... and tried the rifle at 100yd to see whats going on.....

For some unknown reason, the zero shifted right 4 inches at 100 yds.   I dont get it.... never bumped or dropped the rifle/scope, started out doing fine..... all scope/base screws have a dab of loktite, action screws were tight....

At least the new sig runs fine. Gotta get used to a low thumb hold though- I keep getting on top of the slide catch lever and cause it to not lock open on empty.... 1911's rock! P series... eh... they're ok...

If the cause is really from your equipment, I'd get another stock and bed it.

The action is glass bedded/pillar. This kind of thing hasnt happened before. I really wonder if it was a scope issue. But it's a g2 DMR and those things about never break.... so I'm looking for answers, and havent found one other than a scope zero shift....

I'll play with it more at it's new zero and see if it holds. 4" right at 100 is HUGE!!! I tanked 3 stages missing right, and the 100 yd I did today confirmed 4" right. I never dial wind- only hold. The windage knob was never adjusted during the match. I went from hitting 320 yds to missing right bad at 220.... for no clear reason.

however, the cold bore I missed by about 1.5" right at 75ish yds. I'm pretty sure I got pushed off aimpoint from someone next to me firing just before my trigger broke. And I did hit targets at 320 afterwards. It just leaves me confused, and nothing to attribute to this shift.

How many rounds on the gun? Do you have a barrel pad?

Switched to 6.5CM not long ago. No barrel pad. Barrel way free floated. Only about 240 rounds down the new tube. It's a salvage, the barrel nut is full free float too.

Any chance your bullets are hitting your muzzle brake?

Guns will shift without a barrel bad.

Can you have one on a Savage with the barrel nut?

Julian - it's going to sound dumb but make sure your barrel is screwed tight. I have seen barrels unscrew themselves before. Then check to see if your bullets are exiting the muzzle brake cleanly.

Charley - If the action and recoil lug are properly bedded wouldn't the action also have to move to cause this shift? Assuming the barrel is properly torqued.
