Built the tank trap today, here it is...
2 poles are 5' long (60")
1 pole is 64" long.
If too long, easy to cut shorter, relatively difficult but not impossible to make longer though.
Wood, as I mentioned, is from a scrap pallet. It is light, mostly pretty smooth, but of course has some nail holes. Free is good, I'll take nail holes over paying for it cuz I'm cheap.
Arranged by clamping together until it looked about right, then drilled the holes. Measure, mark, drill, check, repeat. 2 bolts holds it together but no matter how tight it was loose, so I added the 3rd bolt I bought to tie it securely. Held with 5/8" diameter bolts 10" long. Should have bought 8" long bolts, I'll just cut them. Two of the poles the holes are 5/8", one of the poles the holes are 3/4" to make it easier to put together. I ran a roundover bit over the all the surfaces including the holes, this should help reduce splintering.
I'm thinking it would be nice to weld teeth onto the bolts so that I only need one wrench instead of two, I've got do some welding tomorrow anyway so I'll throw that in...
