Rich is running the match this weekend.
I'll be out of town this weekend so I'm printing targets today.
If you want in, please post up soon as there will only be a few extra targets printed over the 11 RSVP's we have now.

Ignoring Henry's "probably" puts us at 16 shooters.
Why do all you guys wait until the last minute to RSVP?
If anyone else RSVPs or if Henry shows up, Rich is going to have to print more targets...

It seems like you don't have the issues that some of us have , you should be happy that these guys are trying to make it to your match , show some understanding .

You are on Henry. We have plenty of targets. I will let you know if our numbers are out of hand.
He is busting your balls because you guys should hopefully know further in advance.

I guess the question is, which hand to play?
A Rosy palms and control your destiny? (My current gameplan)
B Hand in marriage, a life of payments with added bits of happiness and nookie scattered here and there, with someone else ultimately at the helm.(Y'all suckas situation)
C Be a warrior like Nick Plouffe and have both. Last minute he announces to his fiance that he is taking her to work a rifle match 6 hours away for Valentine's weekend two years ago. She goes along, and has a great time! Happy Valentines. That was the last TPRC.(My hero!)

The past 2 TPRCs happened the weekend of my then girlfriends birthday. I went to both. Now that shes my wife i would've still gone. Its all about maintaining balance.
If i could dedicate 1 day a week to shooting and the other 6 to my wife id be golden.
The problem is she doesn't get 6 days because life happens. Sometimes shes lucky to get 1. Sometimes you gotta make the call to sacrifice your day of play.

I get it. I understand the kids are a priority. I understand about what you guys need to sacrifice schedule wise. The question is really knowing what your schedule is ahead of time to a certain extent and being able to manage it. What I feel you guys are saying is once the kids come along you lose control because you let the wife manage it all and tell you what the deal is instead of knowing ahead of time because you are in charge of that? I am just trying to figure out these dynamics.

The kids and wife always trump our hobbies. Simple as that. We try to work with it but that's the reality we face.

My wife knows the rifle matches are my one priority hobby, so I usually can comit to that earlier. I can also usually squeeze one acion pistol in every 6 weeks or so, and I'm not even working right now. Once my show starts again I'll be lucky to get in one match a month, especially since weekends are pretty much the only time I'll have with the kids.

Since we have drifted into the weeds......
My wife has always been very understanding of my hobbies and my alone time. Even with one child, I pretty much had the time to shoot matches and practice a bit, as long as I gave my wife a couple days notice. With two kids it becomes much tougher as there is no taking of break. As my kids get older, the time commitment becomes GREATER as they are involved in more and more stuff. All these things have other people involved and schedules change last minute which means we are not masters of our schedule.
Mon-Sat it's non-stop at my house from 6am - 8pm. Sunday is the only time to wind-down, in between trips to Costco, grocery store, buying kids shoes/clothes, etc, etc.. When I do make the matches on Sunday AM, I'm going to the grocery store on the way home. Our house runs on a Google Calendar and every weekend from now to mid-July is penciled in. Once in a while the wife wants a day together. There is no such thing as "my time" when kids are concerned. I'm sure it's about the same for every other "family man".

I think Ben has it right. It is going to be a trend setter in my opinion, but then again it is my match this month. You guys tell me afterwards if it was worth the hype.
And to Enrique and the rest of our buddies in marital bliss, I appreciate you humoring me playing devil's advocate, and I look forward to having an awesome fun match with you guys!
And kudos to you guys for getting the green light for the match by whatever means needed to employ to get in the mix with the guys! See you on Sunday!
Also guys do not forget Sunday is the first day for daylight savings. Remember to set your alarms accordingly Saturday night!

I'll just add that I'm not (yet) sure what the point is of having kids, unless you're going to use them to pick-up and prep brass.
