Club having a practice day this Sunday? Either way I plan on going early when they open. I've got to try my new rifle!

Hey guys, sorry for the late response. I will not be able to make it to organize a formal practice day this Sunday.

Although...... I plan on doing a positional only practice at Fort Angeles on July 30th. The range will be limited, but anything goes on us setting up props and run and gun. I will post up a thread on that in the nest week or two.

Is Fort Angeles within ASR or a different range?

Thanks,
Sean

It is a range at ASR.
It is a different range than the public rifle range.

The red "F" is Ft Angeles range.
The red "E" is the Eagles Nest range.
The red numbers are the distance in 100yd increments for the public rifle range.

Is the Remove Before Flight flag making you think it's Solomon's rifle?

They were easy to set up. Nice they didn't apply any torque that would tweak the scope when tightening. Very nice.
I used some feeler gauges between the rail and the flat underside of the scope. Experimented with different thicknesses till a stack of gauges slide between to make rail and scope parallel. Got my eye relief and tightened.

Hi

I am interested in long range shooting and have been for some time. I need to learn some fundamentals in long range shooting. I have an 18" barrel AR223 with a CMR scope and hand load ammo pushing a Hornaday 75g approximately 2800fps which should get me out to 600yards.
I live in Victorville so my zero may be off because the wind here is always blowing. My best is 1" at 100 yards and a constant hit of a 12x12 steel plate at 400 yards in 35mph wind. I am saving up for the Ruger Prescision in 308 but it is going to take a while because i am on a beer can budget and i don't drink beer. lol. I would be interested in going on Sunday
