Sammy & myself shot the match today at DesertMarksman & had a good time as usual, we shot the 2nd relay & had wind pretty much the whole day with switching winds blowing thru the canyon making it hard to judge the wind.. Sometimes the targets in the pits would start craking from the wood frames starting to bend. Sammy shot her Joe H built 260 & was hitting the 20" steel sighter on her second shot at 1,050yds. It took me a few more than 2 shots to get on myself shooting my crappy Savage 110fcp-hs 338lm. I had loaded up 45 Virgen Lapua cases & thought I wouldn't do so good with virgen brass.... So much for that theory:)
Shot my personal best of 248-6x taking 1st in the magnum class & zero stuck cases (gotta be the virgen brass)
Sammy shot a 241-5x without any help from anybody because I was on lane 4 & she was on 8 so it was all her I'm just glad she came out & hung out with her pops.
Other than the tricky switching winds it was nice weather in the high 60's
Very nice Rich and congrats to your daughter as well for holding her own and hanging with her Dad that's always a great time [PERSON RAISING BOTH HANDS IN CELEBRATION][PERSON BOWING DEEPLY]
Thanks guys, this match is open to everybody & welcomes new guys as well. I would encourage you to come & meet these fine folks & try your skill at the 1k yd line. I'll post the next 1k yd match to give everyone a heads up.
In the face of a crisis, a failure to act is the first act of failure.
