The California Precision Rifle Club is proud to announce their next centerfire match will be Sunday November 9th at the Angeles Ranges.
For details about the Angeles Ranges, see their website: http://www.angelesranges.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Image

Signups start at 7:30am and shooting should start at 8:15am when the line goes hot.
Please arrive at the left side of the Angeles rifle range no later than 7:45am to sign-in and get assigned your shooter numbers.
Your shooters number is also your position on the line so please lineup accordingly.

Match fee is $10 for Caprc members or $30 for non members.
The match fee also includes use of the range after the match is completed.
We usually finish by 1pm.
Bring 70 rounds of match grade ammo.
Be prepared to shoot as close as 10yds and as far as 600yds.
Be prepared to shoot from standing, kneeling, seated, prone and other improvised postions.
Bring a backpack to shoot off of for stages that don't allow a bipod.

This match is open to bolt action and semi-auto rifles from 223 up through 308.
A velocity limit of 3100 fps will be in effect to reduce damage to club-owned steel targets.
Bipods, slings, shooting mats and rear bags are allowed and recommended.
Chamber flags are mandatory and are available from the club if needed.

Some of the new guys are getting trigger time under competition which is a good thing. Usually it's the same guys at the top 3 spots so it'll be good for a change...

Come out to this match with a zero'd rifle with bipod and dope out to 600yds, 70 rounds of match ammo and I'm sure there will be plenty of helpful guys to show you the ropes. Its going to take a while to get all the gear you need to be sufficiently prepared. A rear bag good to have as well.

Ok... AAR. We had 12 shooters show up for Sunday's match. Stage 1 was our standard KYL target shot as a cold bore. Top score was 30 points by Ray and Ben Arias. Stage 2 was positional shenanigans and Mr. Jason Borne (Leith sp? ) scored 60 points on that stage. Double more than anyone else... Stage 3 was Random Swingers. Several people cleaned that with a score of 80 points.... Ok... now into stage 4.... SEVERAL people apparently do not know what rock stars and Muslims with beards look like... Almost everyone ended up with questions on this stage, so we elected to throw it out.. I had one person tell me at 30 power they were unable to distinguish the different faces.... I guess I am not the only blind person. .. stages 5 and 6 were shot off barricades... Shout out to Danny Nguyen with a top score of 50 and 70...stage 7 was pool balls.. Nothing special. .. Just remember to shoot your own target!! Stage 8 was holdovers. . 5 people cleaned that stage....Stage 9 was the hot bore. . A 500 yard IPSC target shot from the unsupported prone position. You had 3 chances to hit it for either 40 20 or 10 points. Mr. Borne, Henry Garay, Jeff Hall (questionable... I think there was a conflict of interest on the spotting ) and Henry Song all made 1st round hits... GOOD JOB...

Scores were as follows

1. Mr. Jason Borne/Leith. 395
2. Ben Arias. 390
3. Henry Song tied for 2nd missed cold bore.390
4. Danny Nguyen 370
5. Henry Garay 360
6. Ray Riganian 355
7. Esteban Masanis 265
8. Jeff Hall 260
9. Aaron Gifford 230
10. Jennifer Toms 215
11. Kevin Qu 210
12. Larry Espinoza 175

Thank you everyone for a safe match... it's been a while since I've run one. Hope to see you all at the next one....
