Re: Matches?
It's shame to see the CaPRC forum, club and matches fading into oblivion. I have always enjoyed the discussions here and the wealth of information. It was always one of the better forums of it's kind out there.
I'm amazed that the club has stopped shooting matches together....... because every time you guys had a match, attendance was excellent from what I observed, usually by reading the score sheet afterwards....lot's of names. Certainly no lack of enthusiasm there as far as having a decent turnout.
I suppose it's very time consuming to organize matches and run the forum. I couldn't pull it off with my usual work/home/kids etc etc schedule. Just too bad it's going belly up.

Re: Matches?
That's the issue. The club runs off volunteers. Not enough people are willing to volunteer the amount of time it takes to put it all together (and run it and break it down.) When only a few people are doing 95% of the work, they eventually get burned out.Fumbles wrote:

Re: Matches?
Matches are still on at WEGC. Not this month due to Easter though. Setup and teardown help from the shooters lowers the workload a lot. Angeles rules messes this up because the range doesn't allow setup until the evening before shooting and teardown after all shooting at the range is complete, which sucks in getting any help at those times because it stretches the time commitment so much that it turns into a day and a half event and messes up the whole weekend for family time.

Re: Matches?
I had wondered about that. I at least thought setup happened before shooting started, like super early. I shot there one day when you guys had a shoot and I noticed after you guys left all the targets etc were still up.

Is this the same match where you have to sign up through socalprecision?thegiff wrote:Matches are scheduled for WEGC.
I tried to register but never got an email so I can post.
Im super. Bummed about the CAPRC matches, they got me hooked on this bolt action ish and now their gone. Two of us took NRA RSO classes so we can help out, I felt obligated to help since I was the new guy but I was present when lets just say the "lights were turned off".
Is their no other experienced shooters to run the matches?

Re: Matches?
That forum seems stagnant, if not essentially dead, as well. Seems the only posting is going on in the Matches sub-forum. Take a look at the sub-forums...Rifles, Optics, Gear etc.......posts going back to last year.TKCastle wrote:

Re: Matches?
WEGC PBR Monthly matches are still being posted over there on the Socal site in the local match subforum. There was no April match due to Easter.
