Post CaPRC .22LR match at Angeles 1/9/11 With AAR
Since there is no APTS .22 match this month...anyone want to bring out their .22 trainers and shoot an informal match after? Nothing fancy, 5-6 stages mostly at 50 yards, perhaps a 150 yard steel if we have one to use. I'll set up the COF and bring the paper targets.

Re: CaPRC match at Angeles 1/9/11
I'm up for that. I won't be competitive because the only scoped .22LR I have right now is a sporter without bipod and with a 2X or 2.5X scope:GforceJunkie wrote:anyone want to bring out their .22 trainers and shoot an informal match after? My other .22LRs are sporters with irons only:
But let's do it anyway. It'll be fun. If you want, I can also bring my beater steel target for a steel stage or two:
The 2.5" discs would be too easy for bipod-equipped target rifles at 50 yards, but perhaps they might be a challenge at 100. I'm not sure though because I've never tried.
I'm still working on that Anschutz Biathlon. I've been waiting months for that damn thing to land. I special-ordered it from Germany and it's coming by donkey or something. It's taking forever.

Bring out your trainers! Here is what I propose: 5 paper targets at 50 yards using DesertFrogs targets that you can view at http://www.6mmbr.com/rimfiretactical.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and johnlee's steel at 100 yards. Some stages will be prone with a front support (bipod, pack, anything), some sling support only, some positional (standing, sitting, or kneeling, possably using a barricade.) Maybe a "hail mary" at a 200yd gong. It should take less than an hour. Its for FUN, bring your 10/22 with a shitty Tasco on it if its all you got. Just know your dope If enough people are interested in doing this, post up and we'll make it happen. Open to suggestions as well.

This is (I think) Randalls. http://members.dslextreme.com/users/mws ... 22dope.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
PS: If making it an all 50 yard match would help, if you want to shoot, but dont have a .22 with a scope with target knobs and/or dope, that would be fine as well. Comments?

First number is elevation in MOA.ta2dtrent wrote:Does that chart come with instructions ? Is the first line MOA and the second MIL ?
2nd number is windage in MILS.
Print out the page.
Go gather hard dope at as many distaces as you can.
Scan across each range line to find your dope and circle it.
Draw a line that connects all the circled hard dpoe points.
Use the soft dope between the hard dope points as the line directs you.
As temperature changes through the day, move left and right accordingly from the hard dope plot line.
Tat plot is good for THAT DAY only, though it will be close in the future.
I recommend you do a new sheet every day.

How many stages? Depending on how long the CF match takes, might be interested, if it doesn't run too long.GforceJunkie wrote:Thats only 4 "in's" as of thursday, counting trent's maybe, Anyone else? I need to know how many targets to bring.

Good job Ben. I guess all that time spent at the range is definitely paying off.
