Thanks Brian, my first time shooting that far and in any real sort of wind. all in all it was way too much fun. i could have probably done better if i was in the first relay but i could really care less. great experience and i would do it again in a heartbeat

Glad to have you come up Nick. You made a good choice to come up the previous day for practice. And I hate to tell you but you got lucky on the wind. Neither day had much more than 3 to 4 mph wind.

Wind was 10-11mph switching from 7pm to 7:30pm when I checked it at the 500yd line on sunday.
I never got to even 1/2 value wind holds.

Your wind meter is busted man....we had 3 - 7mph tops.

Cold Bore was @ 500...I held right off the left edge of the 8" circle...my hit was a centered up.

600 yard heads shots...same hold. Right on the left edge.

The most I held was .5 to .8 mils at 1K. A few stings at 800 and 900 I held about .3 to .4 mils to be centered up.

My freshly barreled 260rem from Spartan Precision Rifles is grouping wicked tight.

800 yards shots 4 5 6 are 10 ring hits with a .4 hold according to my notes.

I was shooting my 260, 142's at about 2800fps.
My holds were similar to yours, never much over 3/4 mil at 1K.
The wind was almost a straight tailwind which is why the value was so low.

I only turned the Kestrel on when we were standing at the 500 waiting for everyone else to arrive so perhaps there were gusts at that time, but I had a steady 10.5 to 11mph reading when looking into the gap between 600 and 800 and standing on station 11.

I was in it more for the experience. I at least learned a little bit about the wind. You guys sure so have a damn nice range up there. Cant wait to get up there and get my ass handed to me again.
