You show up, line up and shoot!!
Seriously though, just sign up for it. Regardless, you'll have a good time and becoming addicted to it just like everyone else here!
ALRIGHT YOU GOT ME!!!!!! I'm in. I just ordered my rear bag, but in case it doesn't come in time for the match, does anyone have a "loaner" they can lend me for the match? Should I sight in the day before, or at 8 am that morning?

You wont have time to sight in the day of the match, we go hot when the line opens.
Go to the range the day before the match and get a solid 100 yard zero, then get hard dope on the range steel targets out to the 600 yard line.
Zero your scope knobs and show up Sunday.
There is usually enough gear around to barrow.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people asking questions
Really wish I could make this one but Ive got finals the following day and a few projects I need to wrap up before the end of the semester. Have fun guys. Ill see ya at the RSO class though.
I actually hurt my right shoulder pretty bad last week, I'm about 80% better now (minor clavicle/shoulder separation) I was thinking I should be good to go come Sunday, however truth is I'm rethinking it due to recoil of the rifle. So since the match requires a definite RSVP, I'm going to opt out for now. Sorry guys

Shoot the match Left-handed good practice.

As somebody who has had surgery on their shoulder and then decided that I could go shooting 1 week later, I will show you my scar where it opened up after shooting a benelli...tore the stiches and caused problems with delayed closure....(but I had fun!!! ) Do not go shooting after injuring yourself... Heal up and bring your A-game next month....
I see that we are full again..this match is really gaining in popularity....
hochung wrote: I was planning on doing that. I have my scope zeroed and ammo loaded. Let's see what my skillage is like.
If you're next on the waiting list, why don't you take my spot. I did some minor work on my rifle and unfortunately won't have time before the match to sight it.
Randall, as much as I want to shoot, I won't make it with a solid zero. Be there next month for sure!! Thanks!

We're gonna have to figure out the distance by Miling the target? You can't be serious? What about the guys who just bought rangefinders. They won't get to use them. ;)
Randall, you could figure this out with just your reticle and your calculator correct...I do not have a mildot master and will not have time to pick one up....

If distance is given, you should be able to mil it and figure out the size in height/width. I assume thats the challenge - how precise a measurement of target size? Hopefully it's not moving
StraightShooter wrote:Stick me on that waiting list, some things have changed and I could make it if a spot opens up.
Give me a call on my cell if there are any last minute drops.
PMing you my number now Randall in case you dont have it already.
What are the chances that if I just showed up that there will be enough people that dont show for me to shoot? I really want to get some trigger time in, i need to catch up to Ryan . But seriously, if there is even a 50/50 chance of enough spots opening up i would rather try to shoot this match than go to the 600yd match at WEGC.

If you show up and there isn't room, I won't shoot. You can have my spot.

Nah man, i cant/wont take your spot. If anythign I want to shoot against/with the best shooters out there, thats how you get better. I have been really slipping lately in the fundamentals and the SCPRC was a real disappointment and eye opener for me. I just want some good trigger time alongside other good shooters. Thanks a ton for the offer though. I dont want to take anyones opportunity to shoot, but if people fall out and my spot in line comes up, Im there ready to shoot.
I am very new to the sport and this site is a great resource for me to learn from. I feel like a sponge when I read all the good material. Would coming to the match this Sunday be helpful for me to watch and ask guys questions about equipment and stuff. I want to be respectful to the group of shooters and don't know if guys like to be private and focused during a match? Thanks in advance for all the great information you guys post for us ra-tards!

Just come on out. Anyone that wants to be an asshole to you isn't worth listening to anyway. You will learn a ton.

How much of this is your barrel wearing out??? You got alot rounds through that thing.
Its mostly mental, and just getting lax with the fundamentals but I did take it out after the SCPRC and its throwing quite a few fliers. I think those 10 round stages pushed it over the brink. As soon as those barrels come in its getting changed out.

To echo what Ryan said, head on out to the match. During some of the paper stages, things do move quickly and it may be difficult to get your questions answered. During the steel stages, things are much slower and there will be shooters waiting for their turn who are more than willing to answer any questions you may have. You will learn a lot! Watch the shooters who have been around a while, and watch the shooters who are still new to the game. Note the differences.
This will be my first match ever. I hope to learn a lot even by just watching the seasoned shooters in action.

Ryan, I've been reading this forum for a few months now, and I see the list of people that RSVP'ed for this match. I already met Randall a few days ago, and I am excited that I'll get to meet you guys this weekend. So I don't think there will be any assholes. Just some "6mm paper killer dispicable piece of shit and a disgrace to the human race! Period." types.

Going to the match will help. But you might benefit even more by going to the clinic session on the 18th. My first time with these guys was in one of the clinics and even though I didn't shoot, I still learned a whole lot!
To me there's nothing better than getting your feet wet and just jumping into a match. That was the first time I ever shot with these guys and I learned so much on that first day.
I am new to this whole thing and don't currently have a worthy rig as of yet but will be coming out tomorrow with a few friends to get the idea of whats going on and maybe make a few friends. Hoping to have a rig together by January to come out to the A course. See you all there.
Hopefully someone is enjoying my spot on the line... I had a good friends that need some help yesterday to get a truck running by today. We did not get out of the RSO class and home until late and they still needed help. Anyway I hope you all have a blast and the KLY rack was fun.

Had a blast! Thanks to everyone for making it possible. I will try my hardest to make it out to as many matches as I possibly can! Again thanks to everyone! Oh and Brad I hate you a little more for stage 7
I think I ended up taking your spot. or might have been Randall's spot. Either way, I enjoyed the match very much. I owe you and Randall a cold one. Thank you.
Had a great time watching you guys. Now Im ready to jump in. Trying to get a rig together before the next "A" Course. Can't wait.
I apologize for not formally introducing myself to anyone while I was there, I was the big bald headed guy standing in the back observing the chaos. By the time you guys were done my brother and I were itching to do some shooting of our own and moved down the line to do so. Hope to formally meet you all soon.
