CaPRC match at Angeles 5/7/11

Post by AR15barrels »

The California Precision Rifle Club is proud to announce that our next match will be Saturday May 7th at the Angeles Ranges.
Our normal match would have fallen on the 8th which is mothers day so we moved it back one day to give people monthers day free and also to allow some of the people that have been asking for saturday matches a chance to come shoot a match.
For details about the Angeles Ranges, see their website: http://www.angelesranges.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Image

Signups start at 8:00am and shooting should start at 9:00am.
The May match will NOT be on the normal Angeles rifle line.
We have reserved a private range to the left of the Angeles rifle line.
This whole match will be at 100yds or less so you might want to run yourself a dope card from 10yards to 100yards in 5 yard steps...
When you get to the Angeles parking lot, turn left and proceed to the first range on the right side of the road which is called Fort Angeles.
Drop your gear off anf then park your car in the normal angeles parking lot.
Please arrive no later than 8:15am to complete your waivers, sign-in and get assigned your shooter numbers.
Your shooters number is also your position on the line so please lineup accordingly.

This will be the 5th match of out 2011 points series.
Details about the points series are here: http://www.caprc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2175" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Match fee is $20 for Caprc members or $30 for non members.
The match fee also includes use of the range after the match is completed.
We usually try to finish by 1pm.
Bring 50 rounds of match grade ammo.
Be prepared to shoot as close as 10yds and as far as 100yds.
Be prepared to shoot from standing, kneeling, seated, prone and other improvised postions.
Bring a backpack to shoot off of for stages that don't allow a bipod.

This match is open to bolt action and semi-auto rifles from 223 up through 308.
Bipods, slings, shooting mats and rear bags are allowed and recommended.
Chamber flags are mandatory and are available from the club if needed.

Line helper RSVP's will be accepted anytime.
Member RSVP's will be accepted after 12 noon on Monday May 2nd.
Non-Member RSVP's will be accepted after 12 noon on Tuesday May 3rd.
RSVP's posted before those times will be ignored.

Please RSVP by posting something very definite in this thread such as "I am in" or "I will be there" as we will ignore "maybe" or "if" RSVP's.
We are going to cap this at 27 shooters.
If you RSVP and later figure out that you can't come, please post that as well so we can keep the RSVP list current and move people up from the waiting list.

If you are showing up for this months match, be prepared for a fast paced match with many
improvised positions. This as a private range that means we can and will shoot off of many
props, and do a lot of moving.
We are in the open, so bring your water and snacks.

Well shieeet!!!! I didn't read. I was going to use this match to "tune up" for the LR portion of Iron Man. Since there will be no LR, count me out.

Charlie: Please bring my stock to the match. I'll drop by and pick it up. Thanks.

As long as it's sub moa at 100, you could use it.
There will not be any zeroing time beforehand though.

My .22lr is .224", within the .223 to .308 DIAMETER spelled out in the first post. No specific cartriges nor centerfire were specified. Plus, Randal said its ok, and in his own words, its a game, game it as long is it within the published rules. Don't hate the player...hate the game

22lr is ok on this one.
You will most likely lose some points on the precision targets though.
And make sure you are comfortable with single loading too...

I would not shoot a 22lr at this match.

You sure of that?

22 LR barrels are typically 0.222" grove diameter.
Oversized match ammo is available in 0.223" bullet diameter.

Hate the player??? I was going to play the same game so i do not have to load ammo at 2AM in the morning, but after reading Randalls
post it looks like I am going to be loading at 2 AM. I begining to think Randall has some idea on what the COF's are going to be each month.

The 260 makes a bigger hole which gives you a better chance of breaking the next higher scoring ring.
