PRS "Club Matches"
If socal can get 15 shooter at a match this would be great for the club events... FYI Management
As I'm waiting for my new website to get up and running I wanted to go ahead and get information out there for all interested competitors for 2013.
Registration for the PRS is planned to begin through the PRS website January 15th 2013. Registration will be unlimited until April 2013.
What is the 2013 PRS format?
The 2013 season will be slightly different than the 2012 season to capture a broader range of shooters and provide a more accessible platforms to compete nationwide.
1. Open Division (Top 50 shooters)
2. Club Series Division (Top 40 shooters)
Like the 2012 PRS season, the Open Division is designed for competitive shooters that wish to compete head to head against the best shooters in the nation in a year long season series points race covering the nations most prestigious precision rifle matches recognized by the PRS.
The Top 50 ranked shooters using their (3) best PRS scores will be selected to shoot the Series Finale.
Open Division Membership fee is $100
100% membership fee's are returned to the Season Finale match to create a high value cash payback match.
60% of the available funds will be awarded to Season Series Points leaders (best 3 season matches + finale points)
40% of the available funds will be awarded as cash for Finale match leaders to pick up as prizes.
* Returning PRS shooters who qualified for or shot in the 2012 Series Finale will receive a personalized PRS membership pro card with their unique member #.
* ONLY PRS members are eligible for PRS cash donations during season events.
* PRS status does not guarantee entry into affiliated matches, members are still required to sign up for each match via each match’s respective registration method.
How do I qualify for the Open Division Series Finale Match?
* Win any ONE Qualifying Match and you’re automatically in the Series Finale.
* Top 15% finisher (85th percentile) or better at TWO events and you’re automatically in the Series Finale. e.g. 7th Place out of 50 shooters = 14%; 8th place = 16% and would not meet qualification.
* By earning enough season Series points to be in the Top 50 shooters nationwide, or available spots.
* Any remaining slots will go to Season Series Match Directors with the most series points
2013 Club Series Division
With an expected increase in Precision Rifle competitions and competitors participating in 2013. The Club Series provides an avenue in which new and seasoned shooters can post scores, compete in a national points race, compare their rankings against other shooters across the nation and ultimately compete head to head and crown an overall winner.
The Club Series is loosely designed to reach out to shooters who compete within recognized shooting clubs and various re-occurring matches across the country and would like to earn a slot to compete nationally amongst other club series shooters.
Club Series shooters will compete against other club division shooters for points and will be ranked within their own division by their THREE highest Club match scores (using PRS standardized scoring).
40 club shooters nationwide will earn a spot to the Club Series Finale.
All membership money paid into the Club Series Division less expenses will be awarded back at the Club Series Finale.
The Club Series Finale will be held in Texas or Oklahoma date TBD, 2013.
The Club Series points season runs from January 2013 until two weeks before the Finale date.
Club Series Division Membership Fee $50 or $25 to active military, veterans, and all active law enforcement officers.
Eligible Club Members may also compete with a COMBO membership which allows them to compete in both the Club and Open Division. COMBO Cost is $100
Club Series RULES and Eligibility

* Proof of club membership or match participation should be sent from a club officer or Match directors roster via email.
* Club Series shooters are responsible for ensuring the PRS is notified of the club match results in a transferable electronic format (e.g. excel spreadsheet).
* Club matches used for PRS score submission must consist of 15 or more shooters in attendance.
* The Club Series shooters ranking will be based upon club match performance.Club Rankings will be based off performance of THREE Club matches.
* The Top 20 ranked shooters will be selected to shoot the Club Division Finale.
* The remaining 20 shooters will be awarded entry by club nominations given to recognized clubs/MD’s by the PRS. The PRS will award nominations based upon participation, performance and organization. The clubs or MD’s will be responsible for nominating shooters.
* The Top 25 ranked 2012 PRS Season Points shooters are NOT eligible to shoot in the Club Division.
* Eligible Club Members may also compete with a COMBO membership which allows them to compete in both the Club and Open Division. Cost is $100

Re: PRS "Club Matches"
Club shooters will compete against all other club shooters in the US that submit match results to the PRS. Just like the PRS this you will will be awarded a point value for your performance in a club match. This is based on the PRS rules - 1st gets 100, then it's scored by the % of your score to 1st.
The top shooter from all over the US will get the compete in the Club Series Finale. Note, you must be a PRS Club Member to be in the running. All monies collected from membership will be awarded in the Finale match along with a huge prize table I'm sure.

Re: PRS "Club Matches"
OK,now some one has to put a team together,
so,as long as we compete in three club matches that are closest to SOCAL, like Arizona, Vegas and NOR.CAl that is doable, team can travel together, share rooms, transportation, and.
I will be interested,
Hope others will show interest as well.

Re: PRS "Club Matches"
no need for a team to be able to qualify, Ray.
Your score at every club match would count regardless of where the club was that you shot was at.
If CAPRC is recognized you could shoot CAPRC matches all year long and still qualify for the finale. Or at least thats how it sounds to me.

James I think you are right. CAPRC is one of the recognized clubs. We just need 15 people to shoot during the monthly matches for the scores to count.DirtRacer151 wrote:no need for a team to be able to qualify, Ray.

I cant remember not having 15 or more shooters at our matches.
Is the club shooter ranked on score and number of matches attended or
an average score over the year?

Since you are more in contact with Rich, can you please let him know that Caprc will be submitting results in excel to be included in the 2013 club series?

This is very interesting. How and when are the caprc memberships due? And where can I sign for the prs club series?
I'd be down for a couple of AZ, LV trips too.

So do all the shooters need to be members to qualify for the 15 shooter club minimum? Obviously any shooters would not be in the series if those shooters were non members.

There is a thread about renewals posted in the members forum.khw9mm wrote:How and when are the caprc memberships due?
If you are not currently a member, you would not be able to see the members forum.
In that case, you would just need to sign up as a new member.

Re: PRS "Club Matches"
For those who are interested in joining the PRS Series and/or need to sign up or renewal their NRA membership, here's a pretty good deal going on. You'll also need it to join CAPRC on a membership level - good way to support the 2A cause and be able to join in on the fun.
$25 for 1 year NRA membership and get $25 off Bass Pro Shops.

$25 for 1 year NRA membership and get $25 off Bass Pro Shops.
