1000 yds Desert Marksman. 10/27/13

Post by gau17 »

Got to shoot out to 1000 yds today with the Creedmoor guys. Mr. Hode it was a pleasure meeting you. Hopefully we will get to shoot more of your marches. I know Rich C. Will be since he won free match fee for a yr.

I Shot 3rd relay with a score of 245. The winds were pretty tricky.
140 Berger Hybrids. 42.9 H4350. 7.3 MILS. elevation. 0.9 MIL wind right. Ballistics is saying 2830. Looking back at my score sheet I probably could have shot 7.2 MILS @ 2850 fps. i was too scared to mess with it.

This looks fun. It would be great to see where we could find more information about how to get involved.

Solomon
That was some great shooting you did! The winds out there are always a challenge.
During the first two relays the wind wasn't too bad, but really picked up for your 2nd and 3rd relays.
Great meeting you guys in person, and getting to put a face to your screen names.
I like the pic's. Aren't you supposed to mount the rifle, not the shooter?
I've got to make it to some of the CAPRC matches and learn some skills.
See you guys in Vegas.

Oh ya... don't call me "Mr". It makes me feel older than I am, which is old :D

Yup, fun time guys. It was definitely really good practice in reading the wind. Thanks again for your guys generosity with the shirts and raffle and such.

That video is a good example of follow through and a good position behind the rifle... Notice the gun does even hop after firing....
