We had 15 shooters for today's match with a few new shooters join in the fun. Nice weather in the high 70's and wind was not a problem for today's match.
Big thanks to Joe & James for helping out with running the stages!
1st place went to James with a score of 434 & also won the "prettiest rifle award" judged by all the competitors
2nd place went to Michael with a score of 355 & also taking top 308... Great job
3rd place went to Nathan with a score of 351
4th Charles 347pts (very close... 1 shot would have made the difference)
5th Soloman 341pts
6th Aaron 339 pts
7th Danny 333 pts
8th Jason 301 pts
9th Henry 235 pts & took top fng award
10th Steven 166 pts
11th John 94 pts
12th Dan 80 pts
13th Netza 74 pts
14th Larry 57 pts ( winner of the mini data book )
15th Ryan 10 pts DNF

Stage 1 was a 5" shoot n see @ 300m James,Nate,Danny,Henry, Jason all nailed the shot in the center 1" worth 30pts
Stage 2 was 5 shots @ the same target scored by pt value of each shot made in its corresponding rings. Soloman had the high score of 47.
Stage 3 was the color chip memory @ 300m. Shooters had to pull 5 colored chips and memorize the order & shoot the same colored targets any shot out of order would end the stage. Aaron shot the highest score of 50 pts... Excellent job!!
Stage 4 was a positional stage, 2 rnds each position standing, kneeling, seated, & unsupported prone. Danny did an outstanding job with 5 hits for 50 pts.
Stage 5 was from the rooftop @ 300m shooters had to shoot from the middle port 3 rnds then transition to the top of the roof for an additional 3 rnds. Danny & James both got 5 hits each for 50pts
Stage 6 was the tank trap contraption @ 200 m 4" square w/6 rnds and 1 mandatory change of position. Danny,James,Charles all showed us how it's done with 5 hits each from an unstable position. Good job guys!!
Stage 7 was shot from the blue barrel, 3 rnds from the top then 3 rnds with the barrel fipped on its side @ 300m steel
James & Charles cleaned the stage and scored 6 hits showing their MADD SKILLZ..awesome job
Stage 8 was the holdover stage @ 70yd 1" paper- 200m steel-300m steel in that order "in & out" 3times...Aaron cleaned both the steel & paper for 90 pts (max pts) great job Aaron!
Stage 9 was the limited exposure stage with the shooters line of sight blocked by the RO's cardboard. Shooter was given 10 sec to shoot 2 rnds at each target @ 160yds, 200m & 300m. The cardboard would drop after 10 sec at each position. Nobody cleaned this stage but had 5 hits for James,Soloman,Nathan,Michael, Charles, Danny,& Jason... Good job homies!!

Match was over by 12:15 all thanks to Joe & James keeping all the homies moving along. Thanks everybody for your support... Rich G

What a great match. I was concerned the current distance restrictions would result in a lackluster match. I could not have been more wrong. Great match, fantastic RO’s and perfect pace. The COF was a balanced blend of shooting skills and difficulty. The 300 distance limitation focused everyone on trigger pulling. Can’ t wait for next month.

If you have never shot this match I highly recommend you attend. Make sure your ammo is for the correct gun :)

I did not realize it was a two shot game from 2nd - 7th. That's awesome. Oh yeah, If you have a 223 or 308 this is the match to run it. James put on a clinic with is .223 and MV with his .308 AI.

Great match, fast paced with a lot of variety. I did great on some stages, tanked a few others. Definitely need to practice standing, kneeling, sitting and unsupported prone. Congrats to the winners!

So we've had a top Asian, and "Prettiest Rifle", maybe there should be an award for most butt crack shown, or for best recovery after a rifle goes down, there were 3 this time: one case head separation, one trigger malfunction and one bullet stuck in barrel and cartridge disassembling itself in the action/chamber.

I just wanna say thanks to everyone for helping out. The past few months these matches have been a % 100 group effort. Everyone is willing to get on a scope to spot when we ask for spotters and people don't jet out as soon as it's over. We've had good help with setting up and tearing down.
We're all thankful that Rich took this on so we can continue to have some fun at WEGC but everyone knows it can be a little overwhelming to run this on your own. I feel like everyone has come together to make this as easy as possible to keep going and not burn anyone out.

We know the distance limitations are a little crappy but we've been trying to make up for it with other creative ideas. If anyone has anything fun they would like to see I would encourage you send your ideas to Joe V and Rich G and let's make it into a stage and give it a shot.

Sorry I had to drop, my scope has been a bit of an issue the last few times I took it out. Sending it back to Vortex this week and I will hopefully get everything worked out for the next shoot schedule permitting.

Don't worry Ryan Vortex will have it back in about 1 week, my Razor took a shit from the get go and had to send it in (parallax wouldn't adjust) but had it back within the week. Thanks for returning bro we all get equipment issues some time.
