Shooters,
Our monthly Bolt Rifle Match at West End Gun Club will be held next Sunday, September 19th starting @ 0730. Cost is $20.00 per shooter and bring 60 rounds of ammo. Semi-Auto's are welcome, however not classed with the Bolt Rifles.
I will be setting up at 0630 and appreciate the help in setting up and breaking down.
I need to know who is coming so I know how many to prep for, thank you.

My rifles are down but I have a "F" class bench (with caldwell bench rest). It's a 6.5x47L. If your stages will be moving from one target to another it's not possible with the B rest. What do you think?

Mark's matches usually have some positional and timed stages with 7-10rds...........and.............wait for it.............no rear bag.aimsmallmisssmall wrote:My rifles are down but I have a "F" class bench (with caldwell bench rest). WEGC Precision Bolt Match 9/19-Match Results
We had 8 shooters today at West End Gun Club's monthly Bolt Rifle Match. Excellent weather, the conditions were great and about zero wind. However, the month off had shown it's wear but the guys were clicking back in by the end. We had some new shooters, welcome men and new guys to join the SCPRC. We shot steel and paper today, good stuff out to 500+. Practice up and good luck, I think today made some of you aware of what you need to practice on before the match. One more monthly and then the big game.
Here are the guys that made their "Cold Bore Shot" on the small IPSC at 500+ yards.
Henry Song, Joe Villegas, Brandon McGaffey, Rich Gonzalez, Brad "Snappy" Bolves.
And these are the guys that made their last "Hot Bore Shot" at the end at 100 Meters.
Henry "Soccer" Song, Brett Christenson, Joe Villegas, Brandon McGaffey
Good Job Men
Also Joe V. was out of ammo and skipped the 2nd to last stage with a potential of 48 points. However, fellow shooter Nathan Wegner and new to shooting WEGC offered him a last round that got Joe another shot and 25 more points. So Joe V. 2 things; bring 60 rounds and never turn down good ammo when offered. 25 points is 25 points. And now you know another guy that has an exact duplicate load like you since you drilled it. ;)
OK here's the order of finish.
1) Brandon McGaffey with 502 Points even with your 20 Point Deduct for Dialing on one holdover stage. Good Job Brandon, keep on it.
2) Snaparoo-Brad Bolves with 452 Points. Knee Pads brother, save'em.
3) Henry Song-420 Points. You know Henry I think if your mind was on Soccer today. Still a respectable 3rd.
4) Rich Gonzalez-401 Points. Stay with it Rich, you were the only one that cleaned the seated stage today. Good job!
5) Joe Villegas-389 Points. Bring 10 more rounds next moth Joe

6) Sonny Mediana-270 Points. Brother Sonny, you had some good hits today. I think some tweaking and repetition and your scores will go up.
7) Nathan Wegner-201 Points. Nathan come on back and thank you for being a Sportsman first on the line and offering a competitor ammo.
8) Brett "The Viking" Christenson-96 Points. Mil/MOA... I think those little dots confused you brother along with the conversions. Come back.
I think those little dots confused you brother along with the conversions. Come back.
A big THANK YOU to those that helped set up and break down. IT IS APPRECIATED VERY MUCH. THIS IS YOUR PLAYGROUND TOO

Next Match is October 17th. See you guys there.

Hey Mark, thanks for putting on a fun match. It was a good mix of steel and paper. Also, a big thanks to Rich for letting me shoot his .50 BMG after the match. An experience that I wont ever forget. Heres some pics that Amber took at the match. Great seeing everyone and good to see some new faces.

Re: WEGC Precision Bolt Match 9/19
Thanks again Mark for making these matches possible! Congratz Brandon, excellent skills bro! great shooting from the others too (as usual). I didn't check my zero after Randall cut the H.S stock to accept the bottom metal and re-installed the stock my dumb ass forgot to re-zero and it cost me on the paper target drills by not hitting any of damn dots. Amber got some good pics and I was glad to hook you up with .50 bmg, can't wait to try your 338 lapua. Oh and thanks for letting me borrow your AI 10rndr

Re: WEGC Precision Bolt Match 9/19
Goodtimes at today's match. I learned an important lesson: always bring enough ammo :o Ran out of ammo with 2 stages left. Thank you Nathan for giving me a round for that last hot bore shot stage. So, apparently we are running nearly identical ammo. Great shooting everybody.
