So, will the crew was in AZ and WEGC, I went to Cuyama. Its my favorite place to shoot long range...Alll it needs is some shade....Located southwest of the town of Maricopa, its a range that sits on about 130 acres of private land split down the middle by Highway 33...The west side is all alfalfa fields and the east side is 1/2 alfalfa and the rest undeveloped...The owner's family has held this property since the mid 40's and has pushed up a pit or Butts, complete with an awning to cover the pullers from the sun. There is a line at 800, berms at 900 and 1000...From the 800 yard line they have set up a 100, 200 and further yardage targets...There is also a 44" steel disk that sits to the right of the Butts to get people the proper dope to get on paper....Shot F class did ok, but better than I did in the past....Ended up camping at the range the night before and sleeping under the stars...Boy, did I get cold...woke up at 1:30 and couldn't go back to sleep so I just built a fire and sat in front of the fire all night (I am a city slicker, not a outdoors person). Should have set up the tent, but everybody else was sleeping outside, so I figured what the heck...What got me was the wind....Sleeping bag was not windproof and then it got damp outside so everything was wet...
Frank (Fjold) ended up showing up for the match along with 7 other shooters for a total 9 shooters for the match....2 relays (only 5 spots on the line)...a safely run match and I ended up scoring about 10 x's total... Hoping sometime we can get a group together and shoot one of the matches one day....(run on 3rd Sunday of the month). Henry and Randall ended up meeting Ben and I out there 1 time, so some others have been there....
Scores for the match will end up being posted separately.....

Re: Cuyama
Nice seeing you up there Steve, even with the muzzle blast off that stubby barrel.

Re: Cuyama
I wanted to come shoot, but I injured my wrist.
So, no fun for me this time.

Steve,
Mike emailed the scores out but he says that you write with your feet and he couldn't make out your 1,000 yard score.
T3 Steven R. .308 F-TR 148-6 146-1 ?? (writes like a Doctor)

Re: Cuyama
Yeah, I saw that email...Got 1 x, I think 2 10's and 1 miss and the rest were 9's and 8's...I think I dropped around 16 points...
That wind was kicking my ass.... Like I was saying on the line, I noticed that as my barrel got hotter, I would have to drop my elevation down a 1/4 of a MOA...Just didn't believe it for like 3 shots in a row and could have had some more 10's instead of 9's....
