why, because there is no golf cart and heaters...? This looks very acceptable to me...you have shade and it looks like you already have the overhang built, you just need to put the wood on....also its at elevation, so your bullets will travel further, but then its only 600 yards....

The match director jokingly mentioned misters. There was shade cloth on the overhangs in the pits, the wind destroyed them. We need to get some metal roofing on there.

Very nice... is he a buddy of yours? And does he plan on joining us in the future with a rifle of his own? Sounds like a natural.

I asked him on the way back when he's going to buy a rifle and he just laughed. I'm counting on Charlie to convert him though.

15 August Modified Mid-Range After Action Report

15 August we held our second mid-range match of our new schedual. For those of you not yet
aware the High Power Discipline now runs two kinds of matches. The months of Februrary, April,
June, August, October and December we run a Mid-range match. This match consists of 2 strings of
25 shots each for record with unlimited sighters. Shooters will have 30 minutes to acompliish this
task. The months of January, March, May, July, September, November we shoot our normal XTC
match.

Thanks to all who showed up today, the match is a work in progress, today seemed to go pretty
good. We beat the 100° temperatures by finishing at 1300 and by the use of club easy-ups. It was
down right pleasant. These F-Class guys know how to live! Thanks to Cameron and Lyle for setting
up the easy-ups and extra tarps.
The service rifle class was taken by Marco who managed to drop 4 points over the two strings
resulting in a 496-21X, second place was Mike B. with a 485-20X. Remember, "Every Marine is a
rifleman" and Marco proved it once again.

The F-class was taken by Steve who shot a 488-18X, second place was Mark with a respectable 485-
17X. For those of you who are unfamiliar with F-class targets let me explain. The X "Ring" on an F-
Class target is a 3" circle. The 10 "ring" is a 1.5 " bigger around giving it a diameter of 6 inches.
This means the when you look at a score of 488-18X, 18 times they were able to hit a 3" circke 556
yards away 18 times! and all but 12 shots out of 50, hit the 6" circle. On a clam day, with no wind,
well, that's one thing but to do it with wind blowing and switching directions on you is a whole
different ball game. Hats off to these F-Class shooters.

Hey Cam,

Thanks for getting this posted. If I could add a constructive comment, I would request a notation after the score listing the caliber. Ideally, I'd love to see a dedicated FT/R class, but I know that will never happen. Thanks to Charles for organizing & running the match and to you and Lyle for setting-up the Easy Ups. That was totally Deeeeee-Luxe! I'm new at CaPRC and didn't know there would be cover. After shooting the June Match in full sun, I expected to be baked again. While I shot more consistently in June, the Easy-Ups' made a huge difference. Thanks again you guys.
