I am analyzing the scores here... how many of you went for the 3/8" dots, and if so, why? why not the bigger dots and play safe?

Im not sure if anyone went for the 3/8" dots. I went for the 5/8" dots. Thought I hit three but turns out I missed two by just a little.

I went for the 1" dots because my zero was off I would have gone for the 5/8's if it was zero'dhochung wrote:

Re: CaPRC 2/13/11 Match AAR
I went for the 3/8" dots. This is completely contrary to my usual, conservative approach. For example, I've never shot more than two shots on KYL and I've never even shot at the 8-ball in all of the matches I've shot thus far.
When I read the course of fire in the morning, I even circled the 1" dots on my course of fire with my pen. But during the match, I decided to go for the 3/8" dots because the numbers didn't make sense to me. I was thinking that if I hit even a single 3/8" dot, then I would have the same points as if I had hit four of the 1" dots. And I've never been able to hit four of the 1" dots before. Never. I'm lucky to get off even four shots in that one minute and always there's at least one miss in there.
So I decided to go for the 3/8" dots instead. I figured even if I missed all of the 3/8" dots and scored a zero, I would probably be about 10 or 15 points lower than if I had gone for the 1" dots and shot my very best. It was little risk for lots of potential reward, so I went for it. I ended up with 40 points on the dot stage--two hits for three shots fired.
Incidentally, I loved the risk-reward option on the dots. I like it when the match director gives the contestant options like that. It's like Double Jeopardy or something. Good call, James.

Don't make fun of my Handicap..... I cannot close my right eye separate from my left.... Never have been able, doubt I ever will. So when I shoot weak side, I cannot get my face down low enough to see out of my left eye, so when I switch to my left, I need something to keep my right eye closed. I bought a patch, but I cannot find it.... or see it....buffybuster wrote:

I know the 300 yard unsupported prone was a 10" and I think the 400 yard was as well. The 300 yard in-and-out was 8" maybeJuice5610 wrote:does anyone have sizes for the following:
