Yea it was definitely fun and was my first match ever, damn intense! I wasn't expecting timed stuff and multiple targets, but that was great. It really showed me my weaknesses and what I need to do to improve...

Some things on the list:
1) Harris Bipod for better ability to load
2) Eagle Shooters Pack for proper weld/height
3) Extend LOP for better support and to keep gun from jumping off target
4) Learn my DOPE via Mils in my scope and not just by dialing
5) Raise bipod so I can use rear back on longer range, not just 100
6) Shoot different positions often
7) Start reloading, match ammo will ruin me :P

Again, thanks to anyone who helped me out, too many names to remember, the Riverside trio, Ryan from Tehachapi and to Randall and the other RO forget his name (Snappy @ The Hide, Brad?). I really want to keep coming and make friends with everyone so I've got buddies to practice/shoot with between matches etc.

PS. Ben, I'm going to need to come over sometime and get some reloading tips if that's cool :)

Lasers aren't cheating at a KD range that's under 600yds. Get that out of your heads.

Yea thanks again, some good tips from you. Who's 264Charlie? Charles/Charlie, shooter #3? Trying to put some faces to these names.

Decent results from today for myself, I was expecting a lot worse. Great shooting everyone, I saw some really good stuff out there.

After today I'm really looking at stock upgrade that wont break the bank. The Prairie Dog Special/Tactical from Stockage looks pretty nice and I've read good reviews on the hide, checking on price for Tikka inletting http://www.stockadegunstocks.com/stocks.html — The fact that I can finish it myself and save money is pretty nice too.

PS. It's Zach ;)

Sadly I only took two pics lol... Lesson #8 learned: Take more pics! Please correct me on the targets, I think I've got a few things wrong in there.

Range

Final Target w/ My Shots
On a related note, you'll see I missed a lot of shots left and then on some where time aloud I reshot and scored them. Anyone know what I'm doing to cause that possibly? I can think of a lot of things but not sure what would cause me to jerk left. I don't think it's trigger but possibly twitch and moving my cheek against the stock and not being settled, that seems like it would cause a miss left by nudging it.

A cheater? Me? lol i've been known to get dirty before :D

After spending time behind a "laser" i just can't see how they would be cheating unless shooting UKD or in heavy wind. I feel like i could have done just as decent with a .223 today. Of course it would need the Rausch touch too.

... I really did not mean anything just joking. People keep telling me I am cheating with my 6.5. So I am passing on the love.

Funny, I was thinking of building my 700 action into a 223 for inside 500.

I know you are joking. I just hate to think that other people could think we are cheating with lasers. They don't hit the targets for us.

I think a .223 would've been ideal for today

As allways I learned some things today.
1) Par times too long.
2) too much prep time.
3) targets too big.
4) Need more positional stages.
5) Hade fun doing it.
Cant wait to see averybody next month.

Brad.

Hahaha Brad oh man... I do agree on some but not all :P

1) For some stages yes
2) Agreed just launch us in hah
3) Some steel is too big even though I (newb) missed some due to not knowing my mils/needing tighter dope
4) For sure – sideways, 1 handed, standing, kneeling etc.

Thanks again it was great.

Brad.
My thoughts on the day:
Have people write there shooter's numbers on the back of the shapes they pull, not their names.
My first guesses at par times were actually not bad, though I second guessed myself and made them longer.
Targets were too big, but we have permission to set and remove our own targets next time.
We need to make a list of available steel from club members and decide how to best utilize it next month.
Ron offered the small freestanding swingers he has.
Bring back side-prone and weak side shots.

Weak side and standing/kneeling/sitting yes. No side prone please, unless you have loaner packs for everyone.

Randall:

I have that Hostage steel. Anytime, you are more than welcomed to use it!

I can see that being used at 200 weakside on hostage and then 200 unsupported seated.

EDIT: Cold Bore on hostage.
